Ways to Support Appleford
Appleford is managed by a volunteer committee comprised of property neighbors, residents of Lower Merion Township, and other dedicated individuals who are passionate about keeping the house and grounds running and looking beautiful.
Appleford is a 501(c)(3) organization and since 1974, The Appleford Committee has raised funds annually, through events and financial contributions, to support the preservation of the historic house and its grounds. The Appleford Committee has sub-committees focusing on the house, grounds, events, membership, tours and other areas.
The Appleford Committee’s annual signature event is the Summer Solstice Party, held at the end of June. A festive summer evening under the tent, the Summer Solstice Party features delicious food generously provided by Appleford’s preferred caterers, as well as an open bar and beautiful décor provided by the talented florists who work at Appleford throughout the year. The Appleford Committee also hosts a holiday party in early December as a “thank you” for those individuals who have made contributions to Appleford’s annual giving campaign at the Friend level or above ($125+).
Other events that the Committee has hosted on a rotating basis are lectures, neighborhood Open Houses, house and garden tours, and the like. Your financial support of the preservation of Appleford is welcomed at one of the following defined levels or in an amount of your choice. All gifts are fully tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Patrons, Supporters, and Friends of Appleford will receive invitations for two to the annual Appleford Christmas Party held in early December. Patrons are further entitled to one complimentary use of Appleford for an event of up to 50 people on a Monday through Thursday (excludes catering). Corporate matching gifts are also welcomed. The beautiful and historic Parsons Banks Arboretum at Appleford is a lovely venue for a planting in honor, or in memory, of someone special. Trees and shrubs can be selected and placed throughout the property after consultation between the donor and the Executive Director. Please email email@example.com to discuss this option.
The lush grounds of Appleford are ideal for family portraits, engagement and graduation photos, to name a few. If you wish to hold a photography session at Appleford, please contact the Executive Director to schedule a time when no other event is planned. It would be appreciated if the host and/or photographer make a tax deductible contribution in the amount of $50-$500.
